In honor of the International Year of Chemistry (2011), the American Chemical Society (ACS) has established an international research grant program to facilitate collaboration between US laboratories and collaborators abroad. The following description is from the ACS website (chemistry.org):
"In celebration of the International Year of Chemistry, the ACS International Activities Committee and the ACS Office of International Activities are pleased to sponsor the ACS GREET Pilot Program which aims to provide intensive, high impact international research experience and collaboration opportunities to US early-to-mid career researcher mentor and graduate/undergraduate student mentee teams. Research teams are asked to establish new international collaborations with a host academic or industrial laboratory of their choosing and travel to that site for a 4-8 week research, training, or educational experience. Research teams are asked to consider how to engage the academic community at their home institution upon their return and consider how to continue their new collaboration with their host institution/laboratory as well."
